Sarah Cambridge- Executive Director

Sarah has been part of the Birchwood family for the last 5 years. Sarah is a licensed Professional Counselor and took on the role as the Executive Director 2 years ago. Sarah oversees all aspects of the Birchwood program. Sarah works closely with the Alaska Baptist Resource Network and other community resources to make sure that any person that is in need of mental health support can find it. 

Shelley Fagafaga- Program Manager

Shelley has been part of the Birchwood family for the last 9 years. Her role includes hiring, training, and supporting our direct care staff members that work with our residential clients. She also ensures that all our residential clients’  and their families’ needs are met. 

Kyoko Hada, MSW CCBT

University of New York. Master’s Degree in Social work. 1999.  Thesis: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy.  Emphasis: Training in Multicultural Diversity, Child development issues, Autism, and Child Abuse.  Treatment Services: Anxiety, Depression, Attachment Issues, Trauma, ADHD Management, PTSD, Change of life issues, and Psychosis.

Ashley Johnson- Administrative Assistant

Ashley recently joined our Birchwood family. Ashley is the first person you will hear from about any of our services. She helps any person who is looking for outpatient therapy or residential services. 

Janice Lawson- Program Manager

Janice has been part of the Birchwood family for the last 7 years. During this time she has worked in many roles. Her joy is working with our residential clients and to help them with their daily struggles. Janice works with Shelley to hire, train, and support our direct care staff members that work with our residential clients.

Anna Luiken, MA

Wayland Baptist University. Master’s of Arts in Counselling. Thesis: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, and Play Therapy. Emphasis: Training in Child development issues, Autism, multicultural diversity, children and adolescent trauma, and couples and family therapy. Treatment Services: Anxiety, Depression, Attachment Issues, Trauma, ADHD Management, PTSD, Change of life and adjustment issues, Grief, and Military Life issues.

Erin Nisonger, MFTA, NCC

Capella University. Master’s Degree of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Thesis: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Gottman Method, Play Therapy, and Existing Therapy. Emphasis: Training in Multicultural Counseling, EMDR, and Couples Counseling. Treatment Services: Anxiety, Depression, Attachment issues, Truma, PTSD, Change of life issues, Psychosis, OCD, and grief.

Sherry Reagan- Operations Manager

Sherry has been part of the Birchwood family for the last 18 years. During this time she has seen many changes in the needs of the community and the clients. She is an integral part of the team. Sherry’s role includes the daily oversight of the operations of the Birchwood program. This includes all issues related to the daily running of the Birchwood program and maintaining the Birchwood grounds. 

Sandy Snodgrass, MS Residential

University of Alaska Anchorage. Master of Science. Thesis: Animal Assisted Therapy. Emphasis: Animal Assisted Therapy.  Treatment Services: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behaviorism, Substance Abuse.

Noel Tyler, MS LPC

Grand Canyon University. Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. 2018.  Thesis: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and Solution Focused Therapy.  Emphasis: Experiences with Young Adults, Children, and Adults.  Treatment Services: Anxiety, Depression, Attachment issues, and Trauma.

Brooke Weaver- Intake Coordinator

Brooke has been part of the Birchwood family for the last year. Brooke reviews all prospective residential clients. She also works to make sure that all our residential clients are getting their medical, education, and family needs met. Brooke also works with community members ensuring that all our residential clients are supported while in the Birchwood program and after they leave the Birchwood program.
